Bealtaine Programme 2012

Bealtaine 2012 pdf Kildare County Council Library and Arts Service invites older citizens to participate in their month long programme of workshops and events in County Kildare in celebration of Bealtaine 2012.

Bealtaine is the national arts festival celebrating creativity in older age. This year to celebrate, the Library and Arts Service, in partnership with Riverbank Arts Centre are hosting an extended month long programme of eventsfrom Tuesday 1 May to Thursday 31 May 2012 in venues throughout the county.  The pick and mix programme offers 27 events and workshops, providing an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in arts and culture. Participants can enjoy interactive performances by Carnation Theatre Company, story sharing sessions with Naill de Burca, one of Ireland’s finest traditional storytellers, and film screenings including the classic ‘An American in Paris’. You can also develop skills and explore your own creativity through workshops in needlework, storytelling, dance, visual art or weaving amongst others.As part of their ongoing commitment to access to the arts for the older person, the organisers are delighted to announce that all events are offered free of charge.  As places are limited early booking is recommended and copies of the programme will be available in library branches or can be downloaded here.
