An exhibition of portraits by Moore Abbey Photography Group

In late 2008, Kildare County Council Arts Service invited Moore Abbey Photography Group to submit a proposal for the inaugural exhibition of the new Monasterevin Library.

The Changing Faces exhibition grew from the development of an existing portfolio which encompassed over 69 images including portraiture, wildlife, architectural and landscape photography.  Changing Faces features portraits of members of the local Monasterevin community and demonstrates the group’s skill in capturing the unique character of each of their subjects.

Moore Abbey Photography Group was formed in 2004 in SCJM Moore Abbey Services in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare. There are currently approximately 22 photographers in the group. The aim of the Photography Programme is to provide an opportunity for the photographers to achieve their creative potential through the art of photography.  As training has progressed the photographers have entered competitions, received awards and successfully held a number of exhibitions.

The Changing Faces exhibition was launched on 11 May 2009 during the opening of Monasterevin Community Library and is currently on view in the library exhibition space. For library opening times visit www.kildare.ie/Library  or Tel: 045-529239.
