Maynooth Film for All Film Club is delighted to launch its 2011/2012 programme

MFFA 2012

Maynooth Film for All Film Club is delighted to launch its new programme of cinema from around the world. We look forward to showing a fantastic range of films, short and feature length, independent and art house, foreign language and classic Hollywood.

The club is facilitated through a partnership between Kildare County Council Library & Arts Service and The School of English, Media and Theatre Studies NUI Maynooth. Films are sourced from access>CINEMA, the national resource organisation for regional cultural cinema who book dispatch and supply films to clubs countrywide.

We screen on or about the first Wednesday of the month, from October to May, and membership is open to students and local community alike. Brief introductions and informal post-screening talks facilitated by Denis Condon, Lecturer, NUIM provide opportunities for critical interaction with film.

Because they’ve proved very insightful and highly enjoyable, we hope to continue welcoming filmmakers to attend Q&A sessions in the coming months. Ken Wardrop, director of His & Hers, Rachel Lysaght, producer of The Pipe and James Flynn, producer of Ondine, all attended last season.

Sincere thanks to our small group of committed members who provide us with programming advice and marketing support, their input is invaluable to the success of the club. But as always, it is your participation that makes the club the vibrant community resource that it is – we look forward to welcoming you back, or for a first time visit over the coming months. We welcome feedback, ideas and suggestions for screenings and ways to develop the club.
