Maynooth Film For All present: Bernadette: Notes on A Political Journey

Maynooth Film For All Film Club invites you to join them for the first screening of their new season on Tuesday next 9th October at 8.00pm in The Iontas Building, North Campus NUI Maynooth.

Bernadette: Notes on A Political Journey, Directed by Lelia Doolan throws a spotlight and offers essential history lessons to anyone who dimly recalls the name Bernadette Devlin McAliskey, but not necessarily her impressive achievements. Did you know Bernadette Devlin, elected to the British Parliament in 1969 at the age of 21, was the youngest-ever female MP?

Despite having faded in profile since she survived an assassination attempt in 1981, the former "Castro in a miniskirt" proves well worth Doolan's feature-length probing, filmed over the years 2002-11

Lelia Doolan's film entertains as well as educates, thanks to her highly engaging subject and rich treasure trove of archival clips.

**There will be a post-screening Q&A with Doolan**

Tickets are on sale from 7.30pm. Great membership deals available. Guest and on the night membership costs just €6.00 / €4.00. Credit card facilities will be available on the night. Students pay €2.00 at the door. Please arrive early to minimise delays
