Born in Dublin in 1949, John studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and at the Etching Centre in Geneva. He has exhibited across Ireland and Internationally.

Both of these works by John McNulty are both realist landscapes. Although one is in full colour and the other monochrome both have a real sense of the vastness of the landscape with McNulty’s expertise in showing perspective. Both works are etchings a printing technique where the artist scratches the image onto a metal plate covered in an acid resistant waxy film. The plate is then dipped into an acid bath where the exposed metal is eaten away by the acid leaving etched lines.
