Maynooth Film For All: The White Ribbon

White Ribbon

Due to the snow, frost and icy weather conditions Maynooth Film for All's 1st December  screening of The White Ribbon was postponed. Its now rescheduled for Wednesday 8th December @ 8.00pm in the New Lecture Theatre, Iontas Building NUI Maynooth see map for details http://www.nuim.ie/location/maps/index.shtml Seasonal Drink's will be served following  the film!

Shot in stark black and white Austrian film maker Michael Haneke won the 2009 Palme d'Or at Cannes for this unsettling story. In his measured and thought-provoking film Haneke explores the tyranny of religious purity and the origins of Nazism in a small town with novelistic detail. Crucially, it is one that grows richer and more resonant the longer you dwell on it.

**Also showing on the 8th will be Brendan Muldowney’s Short: The 10 Steps ....... using the horror movie staples of a haunted house, lone baby sitter and unreliable fuse box located in the cellar (where else!) to great effect, steadily building the tension to a nerve-jangling high (Brendan has recently released his debut feature Savage)**

The programme starts at 7.45pm with an introduction from Denis Condon NUIM and the feature film starts at 8.00pm. Please arrive early to minimize delays. 2010 /2011 club brochure available to download at www.kildare.ie/film  please contact Brenda Brady Tel: 045 448328, Email: bbrady@kildarecoco.ie with any further queries
