Identities 350x290

Screening: Identities
When: Wednesday 3rd March 2010
Where: JHL2 John Hume Building, North Campus, NUI Maynooth
Time: 7.45pm

Maynooth Film for All: Film Club’s next screening is the Irish documentary Identities on Wednesday 3rd March at 8.00pm in JHL2 NUI Maynooth.

Identities charts the multicoloured, multicultural transgender community in Ireland through five personal stories which give shape to the different but parallel worlds of transvestism, transsexualism, drag, sexual identity, and gender dysphoria.

Using interviews and observational film techniques, the film breaks out into some wonderfully abstract performances by its characters in fantastical scenarios, giving rich visual expression to their stories. It is a film that heartily celebrates the overthrowing of traditional misconceptions and common stereotypes.

**The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the films director Vittoria Colonna**
