Water supply across the Greater Dublin Region is currently at an unsustainably low level arising from a combination of events including production problems at one of the regional water treatment plants.
In an effort to maintain water supplies and storage levels, we are asking consumers to assist us by conserving supplies and restricting the use of water as much as possible.
Kildare Local Authorities will be reduce pressures throughout the network at night time in order to conserve supplies and we will try, as far as possible to maintain normal pressures during peak demand periods. In order tominimise interruptions to supply, the Kildare Local Authorities supply will also rely on increased water drawoff from wellfields within the county.
Initial level of restrictions will be a at a minimum andareas on high ground or at the end of the supply network may have reduced pressre or partial loss of supply. Situation will be monitored in coming days and updates on areas affected will be available should additional restrictions be necessary.
Kildare Local Authorities regrets any inconvenience caused and will do everything possible to minimise the scale and duration of the restrictions. We appreciate the patience and assistance of all water consumers throughout the county during this time.
