BHIS Routine Maintenance & Minor Repairs Grant 2021

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage are funding a scheme for works of routine maintenance and minor repairs to Protected Structures that heretofore were not covered by the BHIS scheme. Examples of possible eligable works may include patch repairs to thatched roofs, minor repairs to natural slate roofs (e.g. broken tiles) Repair of roof valleys,Repair of cast iron rainwater goods (gutters and downpipes) , iron railing or gate repairs , door or windows repairs.

Eligable works must cost less than €2,000 and be overseen by a competant conservation specialist/tradesperson.

The grant will cover a maximum of 50% of the cost of works, the balance to be paid by the applicant.

 

Making an application

Please complete the form below and attach the following;
Quotation for the proposed works outlining the conservation methods and materials to be used
Photos of the existing structure

All works will be inspected prior to payment of grants to ensure best conservation methods have been used.
All grants are paid by electronic bank transfer so applicants will have to supply their bank details at payment stage.
