Home : Building and Development Control : Commencement Notices/Seven Day Notices

The administration of both the Commencement Notices/Seven Day Notices and The Certificate of Compliance on Completion are dealt with through an online system called the Building Control Management System (BCMS) located at https://www.localgov.ie/en/bcms

All fees must be paid through the BCMS system as part of the application process.

A commencement notice is required to give notice to Building Control Authorities of the erection of such buildings, or classes of buildings, or the carrying out of such works, or classes of works, as may be specified in the regulations.

Note that each party (owner, designer, builder and assigned certifier) to the notice must first register with the BCMS.
