Kildare artists sharing their work online

Many artists and arts organisations supported by Kildare County Council are sharing their work/ live streaming / hosting an online workshop during the pandemic

Run of the Mill Theatre Company,  Celbridge, is an inclusive theatre company, with many members having intellectual disabilities.  They have shared some community films online. Kildare Young Filmmakers

The Rhinestone Cowboy sessions

A Music and Health initiative of Kildare County Council, The Rhinestone Cowboy Sessions are a series of live recorded sessions with surprise music artists joining Past Times and Voices Of Spring Community Choirs, inspired by Glen Campbell’s monumental contribution to music.   

The choirs have shared some beautiful recordings, with Charlie McGettigan singing ‘Feet of a Dancer’, singer-songwriter Sive singing ‘Gentle on my Mind’ and Ross Breen for a rendition of  ‘One Last Kiss’.  Watch and listen here: www.artsandhealth.ie/2019/11/05/the-rhinestone-cowboy-sessions/

Maynooth Film for All: Film Club 2019 | 2020 - access>Cinema at Home

MFFA has launched an 'access>Cinema at Home' initiative, with a film streaming offering, which commenced on 15th April.  Members are invited to watch a selected film at the same time in their home then join in a conversation on Zoom to review the film -  to replicate as near as possible to the usual club experience. Biodiversity Week

KCC will take Biodiversity Week online with the support of KFM. More details to follow.

Kildare Libraries Online

Kildare libraries are promoting the use of their online services, which include eBooks,
audiobooks, online newspapers, online magazines, online courses and online language
learning. All available completely free at home, these services can keep the whole family
entertained. Libraries are also bringing clubs and activities online during this time.

Library Blog

The Library service has launched a new blog with lots of book reviews, interest pieces and recommendations, highlighting titles available through our online services and more. Library staff have also produced craft and gardening videos

Local Studies and Archives

The Local Studies & Archives Department continue to add free digitised content to www.kildare.ie/ehistory including historic postcards, long out of print publications, historic newspaper articles and essays.
