The next meeting of the Celbridge Area Committee will be held at 10.00 a.m. on Friday 12 December 2008 in the Council Chamber, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, and you are invited to attend.

1.      To confirm minutes of meeting of 10 October and 14 November 2008 and to note progress report.

 

Transportation (10.15 a.m.)

Questions

2.      Councillor Byrne

To ask the area engineer to examine the road between Elm Park and Castletown gates as it has subsided and is in a dangerous state particularly for cyclists?

 

3.      Councillor Byrne

To ask the area engineer if the pothole and subsidence at the Mill Centre at English Row, Main Street, Celbridge could be repaired as a matter of urgency?

 

4.      Councillor Ridge

What progress has been made on the requested junction design at the Shackleton Road, Clane road junction? Please provide a written report?

5.      Councillor Byrne

That the junction between Church Road /Tea Lane and Saint Patrick’s Park Celbridge be examined with a view to making a right hand turn into Saint Patrick’s Park safer and in this regard that special road markings for the proposed right hand turn to be examined as a matter of urgency.

6.      Councillor Byrne

That the wall surrounding the Walled Gardens in Castletown estate in Celbridge and which is a listed protected structure be examined with a view to repairing the extensive damage to the wall near the arched pedestrian entrance to the housing estate and that this examination be carried out immediately.

7.      Councillor Ridge

That a yellow box be provided outside of Wolstan Haven Dale estate in Celbridge.

That signage in respect of regulated parking be provided immediately at the Little Grove, Celbridge.

When will the consultants report on flooding be available to the area committee?

That the water services department set out in a written report the terms of the recent announcement by the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government for funding for water schemes

To ask the Council to examine the possibility of providing the long sought board walk on the River Liffey between the bridge in Celbridge and the Old Abbey Hall on the Ardclough road and if funding from K.E.L.T. might be available for this purpose.

 

12. Councillor Ridge

Will the Director for Services clarify if the proposed community policing committees are restricted to areas in which there is a town council?

That the following housing estates Wolstans Haven and Simmonstown Park Celbridge be taken in charge and that a report be furnished to the committee at this meeting as to their present status in this regard.
