1.      To confirm minutes of meeting of 10 October and 12 December 2008 and to note progress report.

 

Transportation (10.00 a.m.)

 

2.      To receive deputation from Springmakealy Colts soccer club.

 

Questions

3.      Councillor Byrne

To ask the council to repair the footpath at Aghards school/playground which is in a deplorable state due to a utilities company damaging same?

 

4.      Councillor Byrne

To ask if the repair of the footpaths in Vanessa Close, Celbridge would be included in the 2009 programme for upgrading footpaths in housing estates?  

 

5.      Councillor Byrne

To ask the council the amount of funding available under condition 12 of 97/124 (pl 09. 103508) which required the payment of €293,OOO towards expenditure that the council proposed to incur in respect of road improvement works, footpaths and public lighting facilitating the development of Temple Manor Estate Celbridge.

* Details of any expenditure associated with this condition.

* When will the detailed scheme and costing for the provision of a proper footpath from Temple Manor Estate to Simmonstown Manor Estate be available?

* Is the County Manager prepared to sanction funding from development levies collected under 06/1049 (Chelmsford Extension) (PL 09. 223823) to cover the balance required to provide the footpath from Temple Manor Estate to Simmonstown Manor Estate given the statement by the An Bord Pleanala Inspector that "it is considered that development contributions should go towards the provision of footpaths and improvements to benefit the amenities and safety of residents in the area.

 

6.      Councillor Ridge

Will the roads department prepare a costing for the resurfacing and relining of the road at the Maynooth Road/ Jasmine house junction? The road is in a particularly poor state of repair along this stretch.

 

7.      Councillor Ridge

Can the roads department get a costing for the "your speed is..." signs with a view to acquiring one and locating it on the Shackleton Road where there have been numerous crashes and were speeding is a constant problem?

That the footpath and kerbing between houses 183 and 184 Crodaun Forest Park, Celbridge which was damaged by the roots of an unsuitable tree which has since been removed be repaired as it is now in a very dangerous condition

That a footpath be provided in front of the veterinary surgeons office on Dublin Road, Celbridge beside the entrance to Laurel Lane.

10. Councillor Ridge

That the school pedestrian crossing that the Councillors from the Celbridge area committee are funding be put in place immediately.

That Tesco are asked to remove the damaged bollards on the Shackleton Road, Celbridge and replace them with the wooden type that is used elsewhere in the vicinity.

That Kildare County Council being aware of the very positive effects of the Springmakealy Colts Athletic Football Club for youths in Ballymakealy and Springfield estates, Celbridge the reduction in anti-social behaviour in the estates since the club was organised and the sense of community that has developed there and being aware that the club for under age players have to train and play all of their games away as they have no home pitch hereby resolves to make available lands owned by Kildare County Council at Moortown, Celbridge for the use of the club.

That Kildare County Council commences an audit of all refuse and recycling bins and compares it to its current customer list.
