Agenda (10.15 a.m.)

1. To approve minutes of meeting of 11 September 2009 and to note progress report.

2. To discuss Maynooth and Leixlip Pay Parking.

3. To receive deputation from Castletown Action Group


Transportation and Public Safety (11.00.a.m.)

4. To consider the extinguishment of the right of way between Beatty Park and the
Shackleton Road, Celbridge under Section 73 of the Roads Act, 1993.

5. To consider draft Special Speed Limit Bye Laws.

That the reconstruction of the road serving the homes in Clonagh cul de sac, Straffan, be included in the roadworks programme for 2010.

The Celbridge Area Committee’s seeks the imposition of a ban on HGV parking at
           the entrance to Ryevale Lawns beside the Garda Station.

8. Councillor Byrne
 The anti-speed ramp at the Primrose Hill National School HazelHatch Road Celbridge  covers only three quarters of the road and to cars and lorries are swerving to avoid the ramp which is creating a serious danger to pedestrians and pupils .That it is now resolved that the ramp be extended in the interest of health and safety.

That Kildare County Council remedy the severe ponding that ocours after rainfall at house 959 Saint Patricks Park and the green area opposite the house. As this is the main thoroughfare for schools in Celbridge.

In order to eliminate traffic confusion and frustration on the main street Celbridge (at Michangelo`s) Kildare County Council are requested to paint a small yellow box at the entrance to the lane.

That Kildare County Council examines the safety issues arising from the altered junction layout at Pikes Bridge, Maynooth/Leixlip road.

Has the area engineer costed replacing the kerbs in Parklands which are being damaged by large vehicles such as Bin Lorries?

What progress has been made on the installation of a roundabout or traffic lights at   the junction of Straffan Road/Meadowbrook Link Road?

What progress has been made with Dublin Bus in extending their Service to Moyglare Hall Estate, Maynooth?

To ask the engineering staff to get an estimate for the erection of a place name in stone or other design on the small green at the entrance to Ballyoulster housing estate celbridge.

To ask the council to take urgent action to remove the cause of rainwater ponding in the region of Saint Patricks Park Celbridge (812 and other)that poses a traffic hazard and a risk of flooding to near-by houses.

Given the fact that St Raphael’s Manor is under the control of a Management Company and the policy of the Council is to take such estates in charge as soon as possible, what are the outstanding issues now remaining, what recent dialogue has

taken place between the developer and the Council and is there an estimated date available for taking this estate in charge.

In view of the inappropriate use of some of the supermarket car parks when the shop is closed particularly at night,   Kildare County Council reconsiders it policy in relation to excluding barriers.

To ask the council to insist that pallisade fencing be put in place betweem Saint Raphaels Manor estate and Oakleigh estate Celbridge by the developer (rather than chain link fencing)before the estate is taken in charge as this is being used as an anti-social rat run.

That Kildare County Council now arranges to open and close the playground in Celbridge at the agreed times and not depend on volunteers to do so.
