1. To approve minutes of meeting of 18 March, 2011 and to note progress report.

 

Transport and Public Safety (10:05 a.m.)

2. To discuss the National Transport Authority Programme.

3. To discuss right of way at Beatty Park / Shackleton Road, Celbridge.

 

4. To discuss car parking at Church of the Nativity, Leixlip.

 

Motions

5. Councillor Griffin

That for health and safety reasons the council roads design team, examine the Celbridge/Templemills/Ardclough road with a view to making it safe for those pedestrians who have to use this route into Celbridge and that furthermore that they provide costing and a source of funding to carry out the works.

That the council repair the traffic calming ramps at the Church of Ireland in Straffan.

The residents of Riverdale, Leixlip are finding it extremely difficult to exit / enter their homes because of the inconsiderate car parking in the estate. The roads section are requested to examine and provide a solution.

That the council repair and the resurface (surface dress) the small car parking area at Course Moore, Straffan, (details supplied).

That the council repair the footpath at Coarse Moore, Straffan, (details supplied).

That the council address the very dangerous entrance to the G.A.A grounds on the Hazelhatch Road as this is extensively used by school traffic and Hazelhatch Railway Station, Celbridge.

That the council repair the footpath outside house (Details Supplied), Celbridge as several people have fallen there.

That the council resurface the road between the entrance to the Grove Estate Celbridge and the bridge.

That a suitable fencing arrangement is installed, the design of which is to be agreed with the Riverdale residents association, at the lowest point in the wall dividing estate and Captains Hill, the reason the fence is required is to reduce the missiles thrown from this location.

That the council outline the necessary means whereby a reduction in the number of bin trucks entering estates is achieved.

That the council produce costings for road safety improvements on Celbridge road near Colaiste Chairain, Leixlip. The report to include the cost of pedestrian crossing, bus friendly ramps, signage etc.

Can the council look at repairing the road surface around a manhole and gully on the Dublin Road R.H.S as you leave Celbridge (opposite the 5 detached houses before the garage)?

Can the council permantely name and plate the link road between R405 and Shackleton road in Celbridge as “Aghards Road”?

To ask the council to provide a yield sign where the exit at Ballyoulster meets the horseshoe leading to the Dublin Road?

To ask the council to repair the footpath at houses (details supplied), where inappropriate tree planting has caused the path to rise and is a hazard for pedestrians?

Some counties have arranged for the sponsorship of approach roads to various towns. Is it possible for council as part of a pilot scheme, working in conjunction with the local tidy towns in the Celbridge area to arrange a scheme to enhance the approach roads to these towns?

What is the status on the bus lane on the Kilcock Road / Moyglare Road, Maynooth?

Will the council keep cycle lanes free from debris and glass by a regular sweeping programme?

Would the council arrange to have the lights on Rye Bridge, Leixlip replaced or even cleaned.

That the council identify a site\location in Celbridge to provide a skate park and any other additional facilities which could be provided for the teenagers of the area. Funding etc to be considered.

25. Councillor Purcell

That the council can give a report on recent criminal damage to houses in Celbridge and Leixlip. Further that the council give details as to who will pay the bill for this damage.

That the Celbridge area committee seek to include a skate park based in Celbridge, as an initiative for funding in the new development contribution scheme.

Is there any further conversation / reconstruction work planned for the wonderful barn?

Can the council remove the trees which are outside houses (details supplied), as it is creating safety concerns etc for the occupier of the house?

Now that the barrier is in place at the end of Black Avenue, what are the arrangements for opening and closing the barrier and what hours does that apply to?
