4. Councillor Murphy
In view of the number of accidents that have occurred on the road at Old Carton that the Council arranges to a road surface with a rough finish in order to increase the road holding of vehicles in that location.

That the following road markings in Maynooth be re-painted in the interest of public safety:
• Yellow boxes at the two exits from the College to Parsons Street
• The yellow boxes at the Roost and at Buckley House on Main Street
• Along Mill Street and at the Boys School
• The yellow box at the exit from Greenfield Shopping Centre
6. Councillor Griffin
That as a result of recent severe weather, KCC are requested to carry out emergency road repairs at the following locations:
(a Moyglare road (near the traffic lights)
(b) Straffan road (opposite Noones garage)
(c) Dublin road Maynooth from the entrance to Tesco to the Main Street.
(d) The traffic calming ramp at the Church of Ireland in Straffan.
(e) The entrance to the Quarry in Celbridge.

That in view of the increasing number of accidents occurring on the M4 at Leixlip/Celbridge interchange, that Kildare County Council request the NRA to examine the alignment and water egress of both the slip roads with the motorway (coming and going towards Dublin)

That in accordance with Section 5.7 of the Celbridge Traffic Management Plan that the junction at Main Street and Saint Patrick’s Park which has been identified as dangerous for pedestrians, be rendered safe with the use of pedestrian lights or other measures and that a report be presented to the council outlining the action needed.

That the council present a three year plan for the implementation of the long standing policy to put the overhead cables in Celbridge Main Street underground and that funding or this important project be identified (including excess from the regulated parking scheme in the town)

That the council examine the footpath between houses 913-914 Saint Patrick’s Park Celbridge, which is in need of repair and where there is the butt of an old public lighting pole protruding, which is a serious hazard to pedestrians, with a view to remedial action.

Has an estimate been done on the cost of repairing roads/paths within the Celbridge Electoral Area following the recent severe weather, if so what is the outcome? If not, will an estimate be done?

What proposal has roads design come up with to help solve the problem of drivers turning at Thornhill Heights junction and what is the cost?

Arising from my motion last year seeking the upgrading of the public lighting in Thornhill Heights Estate, Celbridge, could I be advised if any progress has been made or is planned on this matter?

To ask the council if the roadside litter along the Celbridge to Barberstown road but particularly along the Kiladoon Estate Wall could be removed as soon as possible.

To ask if the council would liaise with the Celbridge Tidy Towns Committee who wish to discuss a project to put lantern style lighting on the Liffey Bridge at Celbridge?

The Celbridge Area committee are provided with a report on the recent water disruptions, including: (1) the locations where no running water was available within our electoral area; (2) the availability of water and what are the shortcomings in supply, what action is needed to remediate this; (3) the locations where there is a persistent problem and what action can be taken. (4) The capacity for the Council to respond i.e. tanker provision, information provision etc.

In view of the number of homes who were left without water primarily due to frozen pipe lines from the stop cock to the house, I am requesting that Kildare County Council devise a plan of action to remedy the situation at the stop cock ( I understand the stopcock is the property of the council)

That we consider the value of landscaping the area between the playground and the school in Celbridge. What type of landscaping could be done to better manage problems here, what budget might be available and what is the cost benefit of doing such work?

That the bottom of the Harbour Field, Maynooth, behind the town side goal posts, be used for allotments in order to overcome the problems in providing them at Carton Avenue/The Boreen.

Last year we were promised that the council would provide low level planting at the entrance at Loughnamona. When is this going to happen? (planting season coming up).
