6.      To consider material contravention of the Kildare County Development Plan 2005 - 2011 in respect of planning reference number in Register 08/1675

The development will consist of a single storey block, area 1800 sq.m, height circa 10.4metres, comprising warehouse area (1,100sq.m) and sales/display/showroom area (700 sq. m) and an external walled enclosure 90 sq. m, 2.6m high, to facilitate the recovery and recycling of packaging material and waste electrical and electronic equipment (W.E.E.E, facility) together with ancillary boundary treatment, landscaping, entrances, car parking, loading/unloading area and associated signage. This application is concurrent with a planning application to Naas Town Council for associated site entrance, car parking, delivery yard entrance and all associated site works, landscaping boundary treatment etc. at Southern Link Business Park, Jigginstown, Naas,

Co. Kildare – applicant Powercity.

The development would contravene materially Section 23.11 Zoning Objective NE1 of the Kildare County Development Plan 2005-2011, which states, “the zoning objective in this case is to provide for industrial and warehousing uses.  The purpose of this zone is to provide sites for industrial and in particular warehousing uses, at locations which are outside the built up area of Naas, and which are, or could be made with appropriate roads improvements, readily accessible to the national road network.” (report to follow)

17. Celbridge Area

      To approve the extinguishment of right of way from Beatty Park, Celbridge onto the Maynooth Road under Section 73 of the Roads Act, 1993


18. Transporation Policy Committee

That the council recommend the making of legislative provision to require motorists to have breakdown kits (including high-visibility vests) in their vehicles for use in the event of breakdowns or other emergencies.
