12. Councillor S. Doyle

In light of recent issues regarding water supply, can we have a report on sources of water supply for the County, a breakdown showing the proportion of water from each resource with relevant costs and a report identifying geographical locations that are dependent on each of these resources.

13. Councillor S. Doyle

That the council be advised in relation to pay parking in the county, as follows;

- Breakdown of revenue for each town for 2009 and 2010

- Breakdown of operating costs for each town in 2009 and 2010

- Breakdown of projects supported by revenue from paid parking in 2009 and 2010

- Breakdown of number of tickets issued in each town and collection/resolution of same with details of how many were paid at what point and for how much ultimately

- Breakdown of court costs for pursuit of tickets, number of court cases taken, number settled prior to court hearing and number of cases lost on petition of ticket recipient.

Tairsceanna Laithreach

(Current Motions)

14. Councillor L. Doyle

That the council be advised as to;

(a) The estimated use of water from existing system to (i) flush toilets, (ii) wash cars, (iii) water plants, (iv) other uses of non treated water

(b) the feasibility of drawing water from our two canals to facilitate the above uses in (i) Kilcock, (ii) Maynooth (iii) Leixlip, (iv) Celbridge from the Royal Canal and (v) Sallins, (vi) Monasterevin, (vii) Naas from the Grand Canal.

I appreciate that this would involve the running of a second mains which would not require treatment in any treatment plant, but with the present shortage of treated water and the cost of treating it and the number of people unemployed at present, this may be an opportune time to investigate the benefits or otherwise of such a project.

15. Councillor Moore

That legal advice be sought from the Financial Regulator, Ombudsman or appropriate Government Minister on the validity and legality of councillors signing off and approving of annual estimates in which they have only 20% input and are uninformed about the bundled up details of the other 80% of information.

16. Councillor MacNamara

That this council calls on the incoming Minister for Education to review the changes to Higher Education Grants following Budget 2011 and also review qualifying criterion regarding income and to include imputed earnings from assets. In particular with a view towards reversing the changes to the qualifying distance criterion.

17. Councillor Daly

That Kildare actively pursues that Kildare (Naas) is selected as the location for the head office for the new amalgamation of Kildare, Carlow and Kilkenny VECs.
