Creative Ireland Bursary Award decisions announced
A diverse range of projects across the county have received funding under Kildare County Council's Creative Ireland Bursary Awards scheme. According to Creative Ireland coordinator, Marian Higgins, ' The Kildare Culture Team would like to congratulate the award recipients. This was a very competitive scheme and we were delighted to support so many initiatives that will assist in creating awareness of the rich cultural heritage in the county'
Projects that received funding are
Athy Sign & Sign Irish Sign Language Festival €5,000
Griese Youth Theatre & Kildare Young Film Makers 'A Place for Us' theatre and film project examining sense of place and wellbeing €4,000
Brian Cregan Photography project based on the history of the history of the Curragh, with Newbridge Educate Together School €5,000
Past Times Community Choir 'Rhinestone Cowboy Sessions' with guest musicians €5,000
Crooked House Theatre/Kildare Youth Theatre 'Wellbeing and Identity' programme for young people in theatre and film making €4,000
Speak Up Sing Out Choral Music Recording project with young people from Kilcock area €3,000
Croi Anu Arts Centre/KARE 'Rights in Our Hands' Visual arts and theatre based programme for young adults with learning difficulties €2,500
Marta Golubowska 'Us/Them' Participatory visual arts with workshops and lectures exploring sense of place, history and identity €2,500
Paul Woods A new body of visual arts based work exploring War 1 with talks and workshops. €4,000
Larry Fulham 'Creative Rathangan' seminar/exhibition & mentoring programme 'who we are and what we create' €5,000
