The Draft Kildare County Development Plan 2017 – 2023
The proposed Draft County Development Plan was presented to the Members of Kildare County Council on 1st March 2016. The Members of Kildare County Council had 8 weeks to consider the proposed Draft Kildare County Development Plan. Motions on the proposed Draft County Development Plan were considered at four special meetings of Kildare County Council on 23rd March, 5th April, 11th April and 20th April 2016.
The Draft Plan was adopted at the Council meeting of 20th April 2016.
The Draft Kildare County Development Plan 2017 – 2023 is on public display from Wednesday 4th May 2016 for ten weeks.

The Draft Kildare County Development Plan consists of 2 volumes and is accompanied by an environmental report, prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (strategic environmental assessment) Regulations 2004 and a Natura Impact Assessment Report, pursuant to Article 6 of the Habitats Directive 94/42/EEC.
The Draft Plan is available to view at the following locations;

- The Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Aras Chill Dara, Naas
- Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
- Athy Municipal Engineers Office, Rathstewart, Athy from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
- Kildare Public Libraries (please check locally for opening times)

There will be public information drop-in sessions held during the public consultation period, to which all members of the public and other interested groups are invited, as follows;

Tuesday 7th June 2016 Aras Bhride, Kildare Town 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Tuesday 14th June 2016 Athy Area Office, Rathstewart 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Thursday 16th June 2016 Aras Chill Dara, Kildare Co. Co. Naas 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Thursday 23rd June 2016 Leixlip Library 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Have your say – Make a submission
The County Council is seeking the views of the public on the draft plan and you are invited and encouraged to make a submission. The time period for making submissions is from Wednesday 4th May 2016 to Wednesday 13th July 2016 at 5 p.m.
Submissions received after 5 p.m. on Wednesday 13th July 2016 will not be considered.
Submissions can be made via our online submission form here
or in writing to; Kildare County Development Plan 2017 – 2023, c/o Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.
Submissions should be made by one medium only and as early as possible.
Email and fax submissions will not be accepted.
Note: Requirement for names and addresses
Any submission should state your name, address and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. All submissions to the Draft Development Plan 2017 – 2023 will form part of the statutory Chief Executive’s Report to be presented to the full Council. Please be aware that this will include the names and addresses of those making the submissions. Accordingly, the report and its contents will be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will be published on our website.
