Proposed link road from the Dunmurry Road (R401) to the Rathbride Road (R415) at Bishopsland, Kildare Town.

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council proposes the development of a link road at Bishopsland, Kildare Town.

The scheme proposes to link the existing local roads at Dunmurry Rise and Rathbride Demesne, forming a link from the R401 to the R415. The road will be approximately 280m in length with a 7m carriageway, 2m footpaths each side, on-street cycling, a series of minimal radius curves and screen planting will be used as a traffic calming measure to reduce vehicular speed.

Ancillary works associated with the scheme will include street lighting, drainage, fencing, landscaping and signage. The junctions at either end of the scheme will be improved to provide safe access and egress for pedestrians and cyclists.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal opening hours from Thursday 13 January 2011 until Thursday 24 February 2011 inclusive at the following locations:

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated may be made in writing to:

All comments, including names and addresses of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this scheme will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Kildare County Council. Accordingly they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
