Proposed Traffic Calming Measures - Sallins Village

PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES

SECTION 38 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1994

In accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994,

Kildare County Council hereby gives notice of its intention of the:

Improvement of walking facilities in Sallins Village.

Conflicting vehicular movements to and from the R407 (Clane to Naas Road) are being closed to improve safety at these locations, especially for cyclists.

The measures include the closure of a number of accesses to/from the R407, the provision of a continuous footpath from the railway station to the north of the village, the installation of traffic signals at 2 locations in the village to allow an orderly movement of vehicular traffic and to reduce the uncontrolled turning movements of traffic.

Drawings showing the proposed changes may be inspected during normal opening hours from Tuesday 28 June 2011 to Tuesday 26 July 2011 at the following location:

Kildare County Council, Transportation and Public Safety Department, Level 4, Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.

and will also be available to view on Kildare County Council’s website

Representations relating to the above mentioned proposed works may be made in writing to the: Senior Executive Officer, Transportation and Public Safety Department, at the address below.

The latest date for receipt of such representations is 12 noon on Friday 29 July 2011.
