National Tree Week in Kildare


National Tree Week will be celebrated from 6-12 March. The theme for this year is 'The Year of the Forest- Celebrating Forests for People' in keeping with the designation by the United Nations of 2011 as the 'The International Year of Forests'. To celebrate this theme Kildare County Council and Coillte have organised a series of guided woodland walks around Kildare. These will be launched in Donadea Park by the Mayor of Kildare Councillor Brendan Weld on Sunday 6 March at 2pm. The date and time of the walks are

Donadea Forest Park, Dondea at 2pm Sunday 6 March. Meeting at Castle

Moore Abbey Wood, Monasterevin 2pm Saturday 12 March. Meeting in Car Park

Kilinthomas Wood, Rathangan 2pm Sunday 13 March. Meeting at the Main Entrance
