Conservation Works to Canal Toll House, Royal Canal, Leixlip, Co Kildare

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposal by Kildare County Council to carry out conservation works to the Canal Toll House. The proposed works will involve the reparation of the existing concrete lower ground floor level, windows, doorways on the canal side and lower ground level, the installation of two new window openings into existing wall recesses, bracing to the existing external walls, internal masonry walls to be exposed and repaired, reinstatement of the limestone eaves on the top of the exterior walls, reinstatement of the roof timber structure to be covered with natural slate, reinstatement of first floor level in timber with opening for stairs, rendering of the exterior walls, reinstatement of the chimney stack. The installation of a ramp for proposed access to the building.

Plans and particulars will be available for inspection from 13 May 2011 until 14 June 2011 at the following locations:

• Leixlip Library, Captains Hill, Leixlip Co. Kildare (During normal office hours)

Submissions and observations on the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the development is situated, may be made in writing to Simon Wallace, Senior Executive Parks Superintendent, at the address below before 12 noon on 24 June 2011. Submissions should be headed, "Conservation Works to Leixlip Spa Toll House”
