Material Contravention of the Leixlip Local Area Plan 2010

Revision of advertisement in Sunday Independent of 9 October, 2011

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 34 (6) of the Planning & Development Act 2000 as amended that Kildare County Council intends to consider deciding to grant permission to Glebe Montessori School for a development which will consist of the following: a single storey Montessori School including 8 No. classrooms, general purpose room and ancillary support accommodation; entrance onto the R405 (Maynooth Road) pending development of roads on adjacent site; final entrance to be formed on completion of adjacent site roads; associated boundary fencing, car parking, site works, drainage and services at Crodaun, Celbridge, Co. Kildare.

The development would contravene materially policies in the Celbridge Local Area Plan 2010:

The majority of the land is zoned F; Open Space and Amenity;

To protect and provide for recreation, open space and amenity provision.

Under the zoning matrix of the Celbridge Local Area Plan 2010 a school is not permitted on the above zoning.

A small portion of the subject site adjacent to the R405 is zoned Retail/Commercial.

To provide for retailing, commercial, office, cultural and other uses appropriate to the town.

Under the zoning matrix of the Celbridge Local Area Plan 2010 a school is open for consideration on the above zoning.

Particulars of the development may be inspected at the offices of the Planning Department of Kildare County Council, Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co Kildare, during office hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday).  Any submission or observation regarding the making of a decision to grant permission received not later than the 7 November 2011 will be duly considered by the Planning Authority.
