Stepping Out For Culture Night


Mayor of Kildare, Michael Nolan got a sneak preview of events for Culture Night Kildare when he visited Dance Tones dance studio in Newbridge Industrial Estate. Over 40 events, all free of charge, take place across Kildare for Culture Night on Friday 23 September 2011. Commenting on the programme, the Mayor stated that he was heartened by the range of activities taking place and encouraged people to embrace the Culture Night initiative to engage with the wealth of cultural facilities countywide.

Dance Tones dance studio was established by Breda Lynch Kelly. It specialises in the teaching of Ballroom, Latin American, Hip Hop, Salsa, Breakdancing, Line Dancing, etc. to all ages. Breda commented that she looked forward to welcoming adults and children to free dance classes for Culture Night.

The Culture Night programme is available from participating venues, libraries, Riverbank Arts Centre and Áras Chill Dara. Information can be found on or Arts in Co Kildare on Facebook.

Arts Officer for Kildare County Council, Lucina Russell stated that while the Culture Night brochure has been finalised, that further events can be added to the programme.

Now in its second year in Kildare, Culture Night Kildare is managed by Kildare County Council and supported by Temple Bar Cultural Trust and the Deparment of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
