Will you be able to vote in the referendum on 31 May?

Will you be able to vote in the referendum on 31 May?

Unless your name appears on the 2012/13 Register of Electors, the answer is no!

You may check the register at your local Garda Station, Community Library, Post Office, Áras Chill Dara or on www.checktheregister.ie.

If your name does not appear on the register, you can get an application form to have your name included on the supplement register at the above locations.

Completed application forms must be received in Kildare County Council by Monday 14 May in order to be included on the supplement register for the forthcoming referendum.

If you have a query, you may phone our franchise section on 045/980201 or e-mail regelectors@kildarecoco.ie.

Postal and Special Voters Lists

If the circumstances of your occupation means that you may find it difficult to get to your polling station on polling day or you are a full time student at a 3rd level institution in the state, you can apply for a postal vote in the forthcoming referendum on 31 May.

Similarly, if you have a long-term physical illness/disability and are living either at home or in a nursing home, you can apply for a postal or special vote, as appropriate.

Application forms are available either by phoning 045/980201 or sending an e-mail to regelectors@kildarecoco.ie.

(Please note that the closing date for such applications is two days after the Minister makes an Order setting polling day, so immediate action is needed if you wish to have this facility for the referendum on 31 May).
