Temporary Road Closure - Notice of Intention - Burnt Tree Crossroads




Kildare County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 that it intends to close:

The L-8067 from Burnt Tree Crossroads to the Sailsbury junction, Athy.

The local road between Burnt Tree Crossroads (on the L-8067) and the Sailsbury junction (on the L-8067) shall be closed from Monday 2 July until Friday 13 July 2012 to facilitate construction works to the River Barrow Abstraction Scheme, Contract 2, Srowland to Ardscull Rising Mains.

Diversions will be in place and motorists travelling eastbound from the R417 are asked to follow the diversion routes via Foxhole Bridge. Heavy goods vehicles in excess of 3.5 tonnes will be required to divert via Athy as restrictions will be in place on Foxhole Bridge.

Diversionary routes, which will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána, will be in place for the duration of the works. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transport and Public Safety at the address below on or before 5.00p.m. on Tuesday 26 June 2012.
