Proposed Variation of Kildare County Development Plan

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS 2000 – 2011

PROPOSED VARIATION (NO. 1) OF KILDARE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2011-2017 TO INCORPORATE SMALL TOWN PLANS - KILL, PROSPEROUS, RATHANGAN, ATHGARVAN, DERRINTURN AND CASTLEDERMOT

Notice under Section 13 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2011,

Amendments that constitute Material Alterations to Proposed Variation No. 1 of the Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017

Notice is hereby given that the Members of Kildare County Council, having considered Proposed Variation No. 1 of the Kildare County Development Plan and the Manager’s Report thereon in accordance with Section 13 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2011, have resolved that the Proposed Variation of the County Development Plan be amended.

The proposed amendments constitute a material alteration of the Proposed Variation of the Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017. The proposed amendments are accompanied by information on the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the proposed alterations and are prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 and Article 6 of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC

The reason for this variation is to ensure that the objectives for the six towns are consistent with the core strategy of the County Development Plan. These plans will replace existing Local Area Plans for the above settlements.

Copies of the proposed amendments, the Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment Screening Report may be inspected at the locations listed below during the period of 4 weeks from Thursday 10 May 2012 to Wednesday 6 June 2012 inclusive:

Kildare County Council offices from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays:

- Áras Chill Dara, Naas, Co. Kildare from 9am to 4pm

- Northern Area Office, Leinster Street, Maynooth from 9am -1pm and 2pm - 5pm

- Southern Area Office, Rathstewart, Athy from 9am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm

- Clane Area Office, The Woods, Clane from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm

The following public libraries during their usual opening hours: Athy, Ballitore, Castledermot, Celbridge, Clane, Clocha Rince, Kilcock, Kilcullen, Kildare, Leixlip, Maynooth, Monasterevin, Naas, Newbridge and Rathangan

Submissions or observations with respect only to the proposed amendments to Proposed Variation No. 1 of the County Development Plan and/or the Screening Reports, are invited from members of the public and other interested parties.

Submissions/observations made in writing to Kildare County Council within the period from Thursday 10 May 2012 to Wednesday 6 June 2012 inclusive will be taken into consideration by the council before the making of the variation of the Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017.

Note: Submissions or observations should be received no later than 5pm on Wednesday 6 June 2012. Late submissions will not be considered.
