Press Statement - M7/M9 Interchange Remedial Works

Press Statement

M7 / M9 Interchange Remedial Works

Clonmel Enterprises Ltd has signed a contract with Kildare County Council for the M7 / M9 Interchange Remedial Works. Works on site will commence during the week starting the 21 January 2013 and are expected to take 12 weeks.

These works are required to increase the capacity of the merge from the M9 onto the M7. At present the M9 motorway reduces from 2 lanes to 1 lane and then merges with the M7 motorway. During peak hours this can lead to extensive queuing on the M9. The existing merge will remain and another merge for M9 to M7 will be added. The existing merge will be maintained to allow for less interference during the construction of the project and to limit construction to the left hand side of the M9 merge and the M7 mainline.
