Press Statement

Register of Electors 2014/15

Information Campaign

Work is underway on the information campaign for preparation of the Register of Electors 2014/15.

Information Leaflet

An information leaflet targeting our campaign message "Your Vote is Your Voice" will be delivered to almost every household in the county, beginning next Monday, 29th July.

This leaflet explains how the Register can be checked at the local post office, library or Garda station or online at www.checktheregister.ie. Enquiries can also be made by phoning our office on 045-980201 or by email to register@kildarecoco.ie.

The leaflet also explains that; If you are not registered or your details are incorrect, application forms for entry/correction may be obtained from the local post office, library or Garda station. If you believe any previous residents may still be registered at your address, please provide us with their details, so that their names may be removed.

Application Forms

Application forms for entry onto the Register are available at libraries, Garda stations and post offices.

Website

The Register of Electors will have a prominent position on our website www.kildarecountycouncil.ie. From the homepage the user will access the leaflet used in the information campaign, together with access to the various forms that may be required, and an opportunity to "checktheregister".

Social Media

This year, for the first time, social media will play a part in our information campaign. This will commence next week with the publication of the leaflet on facebook and twitter. Tweets and facebook messages will then be published intermittently over the coming 2/3 months with different reminders about the Register. Like us on facebook and follow us on twitter.

Information Clinics

Information Clinics will be held in libraries throughout the county, commencing on the 3rd September next. The purpose of these clinics is to encourage participation in the electoral process and to assist people in registering on the Electoral Register.

Details with regard to the locations and times of the clinics will be available on our website and will be published locally in advance.
