Mayor's Charity Day in aid of the Princess Leah Fund

Press Statement

Mayor’s Charity Day

in aid of the

Princess Leah Fund

Every community across the county and beyond has been touched by the brave battle being fought by Leah Taaffe from Robertstown who was recently diagnosed with a serious illness.

Leah’s family and friends have set up the “Princess Leah Fund” in an effort to raise funds towards the cost of her treatment. Many communities and organisations have held fundraising events to date, with many more planned.

In order lend my support to Leah’s family, with the support and assistance of the members, management and staff of Kildare County Council, I am hosting a Charity Day in Áras Chill Dara on Tuesday, 26th March.

Many events have been planned throughout the day.

There will be a cake sale and bling sale starting at 10am. A raffle has also been organised and very generous prizes have been donated by the local business community and staff of the council.

I will be joined on Tuesday afternoon by some of the members of the Kildare County Football Team and I am very grateful to them for lending their support to this cause.

I wish Leah and her family best wishes on behalf of the members, management and staff of Kildare County Council and hope that our efforts will help in some small way.

Councillor Micheál “Spike” Nolan

Mayor of County Kildare

22 March 2013
