Notice of Making of Bye-Laws

Casual Trading Bye-Laws for Market Square, Maynooth 2013

By virtue of the power conferred on the council by Section 6 of the Casual Trading Act 1995, the council gives notice of the adoption of bye-laws to designate a casual trading area at Market Square, Maynooth, for a market, to take place each Thursday and Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Applications are now invited for casual trading licences for the market at Market Square, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

The following goods will be permitted to be sold in the market:

Locally or regionally produced food products that are grown, produced, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the licence holder, and are of exceptional quality; or

Locally or regionally produced arts and craft goods, manufactured by the licence holder, and are of exceptional quality.

A copy of the adopted bye-laws may be inspected at the Corporate Services Department, Kildare County Council, Level 7, at the address below during normal office hours and may be purchased for the sum of €5. The bye-laws may also be viewed by clicking here

Application forms are available from the Corporate Services Department or from our website. The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 11 October 2013.
