SITE LOCATION: Sallins Road Osberstown Roundabout on R407

R407 SALLINS ROAD OSBERSTOWN ROUNDABOUT UPGRADE SCHEME

Proposed Development: Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of proposals to upgrade the R407 Sallins Road Roundabout, at Osberstown, Naas, County Kildare. This roundabout is located on the south side of the M7 motorway, on the Sallins Road (R407). The proposed roundabout upgrade scheme will increase the capacity of the roundabout, providing additional approach lanes, and enhancing pedestrian and cycling facilities and safety. The scheme includes earthworks, paving, landscape, ancillary drainage, public lighting and signage.

In accordance with S. I. 476, 2011, Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment) (No.3) Regulations 2011 Kildare County Council has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal opening hours from Tuesday 22 July until Tuesday 2 September 2014 at the following locations:

  • Roads, Transport and Public Safety Department, Kildare County Council, Level 4, at the address below
  • Naas Library, Harbour View, Naas, Co Kildare

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will also be available to view on Kildare County Council’s website at www.kildarecountycouncil.ie/roadsandtransportation/PartVIII

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development and dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated may be made in writing to:

Senior Executive Officer, Roads Transport and Public Safety Department, Kildare County Council, at the address below on or before 12 noon Friday 19 September 2014.

Submissions should be headed:

“R407 Sallins Road Osberstown Roundabout

All comments, including names of those making comments, submitted to the council in regard to this scheme will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Kildare County Council. Accordingly they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
