Proposed Variation - Kildare County Development Plan

Notice of Proposed Variation of Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017 (Variation No. 3) to include provisions to address high tension power lines.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended that, at its meeting on the 28 April 2014, Kildare County Council agreed to initiate a Proposed Variation of the Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017.

The reason for the proposed Variation is to include provisions to address high tension power lines which would also detail the policies of the planning authority regarding the future development of this infrastructure over the period of the plan.

Kildare County Council has concluded, following screening for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in accordance with Article 13K of the Planning and Development (SEA) Regulations 2004 as amended and Appropriate Assessment (AA) screening under Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive, that further SEA and AA of the proposed Variation is not necessary. Copies of the decisions from the screenings for SEA and AA are available for inspection with the proposed Variation.

Details of the proposed Variation, the SEA Screening Decision and the AA Screening Statement may be inspected for a period of 4 weeks from 7 May 2014 to 4 June 2014 at the following locations:

Planning Office, Kildare County Council, Level 1, at the address below

Opening times: 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding Wednesday)

Wednesday: 9.30 am – 4.00 pm

YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO MAKE YOUR SUBMISSION AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS 5.00 P.M. ON 4 JUNE 2014. LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
