TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

NOTICE OF INTENTION

M9 Motorway

Kildare County Council gives notice, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, that it intends to close the following road:

The M9 Northbound and Southbound between Junction 3 (Athy) and Junction 2 (Kilcullen) from Thursday 18 December 2014 at 8.00pm to Friday 19 December 2014 at 6.00am.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the ongoing construction of a new bridge structure across the carriageway.

Alternative routes: Diversions will be in place and northbound traffic will be required to exit at Junction 3 (Athy) and continue along the N78 towards Athy, then along the R418 towards Kilcullen, rejoining the M9 Motorway at Junction 2 (Kilcullen).

Southbound traffic will be required to exit at Junction 2 (Kilcullen) and follow the R448 (old N9) to the N78 Athy Road, rejoining the M9 Motorway at Junction 3 (Athy).

Diversionary routes, which will be clearly signposted, (as agreed with An Garda Síochána) will be in place for the duration of the works.

Objections/observations may be made in writing to the Acting Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transport and Public Safety, Kildare County Council, Level 4, at the address below on or before 5.00pm on 28 November 2014.
