Road Works Speed Limit Order NRO 4/2014

Kildare County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, hereby makes the following Order in respect of the area comprising the administrative county of Kildare;

This order may be cited as the Road Works Speed Limit Order NRO 4/2014

80 kilometres per hour shall be the road works speedlLimit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the roads specified in the First Schedule to this order

60 kilometres per hour shall be the road works speed limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the roads as specified in the Second Schedule to this order

First Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of 80 kilometres per hour is prescribed

M9 Motorway

M9 Northbound

Part of the northbound M9 between a point 1120 metres south of the centre line of the existing Kilcullen Overbridge (M9 Junction 2) to a point 620 metres south of the centre line of the Kilcullen Overbridge (Junction 2) (Total 500 metres in length).

M9 Southbound

Part of the southbound M9 between a point 620 metres south of the centre line of the existing Kilcullen Overbridge (M9 Junction 2) to a point 1120 metres south of the centre line of the Kilcullen Overbridge (Junction 2) (Total 500 metres in length).

Second Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of

60 kilometres per hour is prescribed

M9 Motorway

M9 Northbound

Part of the northbound M9 between a point 620 metres south of the centre line of the Kilcullen Overbridge (Junction 2) to a point 740 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) where the M9 ends (Total 7400 metres in length).

Part of the northbound M9 diverge at Kilcullen from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 95 metres south of the stop line of the diverge off-ramp at Kilcullen Junction (M9 Junction 2) (Total 140 metres in length).

Part of the northbound M9 merge at Kilcullen from a point 80 metres north of the start of the merge on-ramp at Kilcullen Junction (M9 Junction 2) to the end of the merge taper (Total 510 metres in length).

M9 Southbound

Part of the southbound M9 between a point 740 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange), where the M9 starts, to a point 620 metres south of the centre line of the existing Kilcullen Overbridge (M9 Junction 2) (Total 7400 metres in length).

Part of the southbound M9 diverge at Kilcullen from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 220 metres north of the stop line of the diverge off-ramp at Kilcullen Junction (M9 Junction 2) (Total 300 metres in length).

Part of the southbound M9 merge at Kilcullen from a point 120 metres south of the start of the merge on-ramp at Kilcullen Junction (M9 Junction 2) to the end of the merge taper (Total 510 metres in length).

This Road Works Speed Limit Order will apply from Wednesday 22October 2014 to Friday 5 December 2014 inclusive.
