Temporary Road Closure-Courtown Little Bridge

Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice of Intention

 Roads Act 1993

 

Kildare County Council hereby gives notice, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, that it proposes to close the road described as follows:

Road to be Closed: The L5039 at Courtown Little Bridge, Kilcock, Co. Kildare

Dates of Closure:   From Monday 8 August 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

to Monday 15 August 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

Hours of Closure:  24 Hours (each day)

This closure is required to facilitate Bridge Rehabilitation works on the L5039 at Courtown Little Bridge, Kilcock, Co. Kildare.

Northbound Traffic: Divert from L5039 at Courtown Little onto the L5038 west for approximately 2km to Courtown Great. Turn right onto L5028 for approximately 200m to R407 Clane Road. Turn right onto R407 towards Kilcock and continue for approximately 1km. Turn right at Royal Canal Bridge in Kilcock onto Fairgreen (L5039) and continue for approximately 2.2km via Branganstown to Courtown Little.

Southbound Traffic: Divert northbound on L5039 for approximately 2.2km, via Branganstown, towards Kilcock. Turn left (south) after Fairgreen/Kilcock Train Station onto R407 (Clane Road) and continue southbound for approximately 1km. Turn left onto L5028 for approximately 200m to Courtown Great. Turn left onto L5039 and continue eastwards for approximately 2km to Courtown Little.

There will be no through traffic across the bridge during this period.  However, local access will be maintained on roads adjacent to the bridge at all times.
