Kildare Town Alcohol Bye-Laws 2016

Notice of Intention to Make Bye-Laws

Kildare Town Area (Control of Consumption & Possession of Alcohol in Public Places) Bye-Laws 2016

Kildare County Council proposes to revise bye-laws under the Local Government Act 2001, for the control of consumption and possession of alcohol in public places in the Area of Kildare Town. These proposed bye-laws include provision for the serving of a notice on a person found to be in contravention, specifying a fixed payment to be paid, the non-payment of which will result in a prosecution in respect of any offence committed.

A draft of the revised proposed bye-laws will be available for inspection at the Corporate Services Department, Level 1, at the address below and at Kildare Town Library, Claregate Street, Kildare Town during normal opening hours.

The draft will be on display from Wednesday 15 June, 2016 to Wednesday 20 July, 2016.  Copies are available, on payment of a fee of €5, on application to the council’s Corporate Services Department or can be viewed on line at

Submissions in relation to the proposed revised bye-laws may be sent in writing to Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Services Department at the address below and any such submission received before 5.00 p.m. on Wednesday 3 August 2016 will be considered before the making of the bye-laws.
