Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Kildare County Council, in association with Intel, is providing a collection service for household hazardous waste for Kildare households on Saturday 17 September

The collection will take place at:

Intel carpark, Leixlip (carpark nearest Maynooth, follow the signs)

from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. sharp

The following labelled items will be accepted:

  • Paint (oil-based*)
  • Thinners, varnish
  • Fluorescent tubes, energy saving light bulbs
  • Batteries
  • Old medicines
  • Pesticides, insecticides
  • Aerosols
  • Engine oil, oil filters
  • Cooking oil
  • Antifreeze
  • Adhesives
  • Bleach, caustic soda, strong cleaning agents

*Please note: emulsion paint (water-based ceiling and wall paint) is NOT hazardous and can be disposed of in your normal refuse collection.

All items must be clearly labelled, NO UNLABELLED WASTE CAN BE ACCEPTED.

This service is provided free of charge to householders- no waste will be accepted from businesses.

Only items listed above will be accepted.

No bags or boxes may be left with material.

This service will be provided on a first come, first served basis. When the collection truck is full, no further waste will be accepted.
