Kildare County Council welcomes the IPB National Pride of Place Judges to Kildare

Kildare County Council would like to congratulate both The Acre Project in Celbridge and the Barrettstown Children’s Charity who are representing Kildare in the 2017 IPB Pride of Place Awards in association with Co-operation Ireland.

Both groups have been nominated by Kildare County Council and will represent Kildare at a function in Donegal in December.  The judging took place on Wednesday 26 July 2017.  The Acre is representing Kildare in the category ‘Creative Place Initiative’ and Barrettstown in the category ‘Community Reaching Out Initiative’.

Sonya Kavanagh, Director of Services, Kildare County Council said “We are delighted to have this opportunity to showcase these two fantastic initiatives to the Pride of Place Judges.  We are sure they will be as impressed as we are in terms of the work done at The Acre in Celbridge and The Barrettstown Serious Fun Camp.”

The All-Island Pride of Place Awards, which is now in its fifteenth year, promotes and celebrates the best in community development and recognises the selfless efforts of people in making their neighbourhoods better places to live, work and socialise. This year a broad spectrum of groups were nominated, ranging from small rural communities to inner city housing estates.

The winners of the competition will be ‌‌announced at a Gala Awards Ceremony at the Mount Errigle Hotel, Letterkenny on 02 December 2017
