Road Works Speed Limit Order NRO 7/2017, M7

M7 in the townlands of Curragh, Ballymany, Moorfield, Crotanstown, Walshestown, Great Connell and Clownings

Kildare County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, hereby makes the following Order in respect of the area comprising the administrative County of Kildare;

 

  1. 1.    This order may be cited as theRoad Works Speed Limit Order NRO 7/2017".

 

  1. 60 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the First Schedule to this order.

 

  1. 80 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the Second Schedule to this order.

 

First Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order

Of 60 kilometres per hour is prescribed.

 

A section of the M7 in the townlands of Curragh, Ballymany, Moorfield, Crotanstown, Walshestown, Great Connell and Clownings.

M7 Westbound

  • Part of the westbound M7 between a point 175 metres west of the centre line of the existing Corbally Road Overbridge to a point 1330 metres west of the centre line of the existing Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12)

(Total 6500m in length).

 

  • Part of the westbound M7 merge at Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12) from a point 50 metres west of the start of the merge on-ramp at Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12) to the end of the merge taper.

(Total 480m in length).

 

  • Part of the westbound M7 diverge at M7 Junction 12 Newbridge junction from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 160 metres east of the yield line of the diverge off-ramp at Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12).

(Total 400m in length).

 

 

Second Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of

80 kilometres per hour is prescribed.

 

A section of the M7 in the townlands of Curragh, Ballymany, Moorfield, Crotanstown, Walshestown, Great Connell and Clownings.

 

M7 Westbound

  • Part of the westbound M7 between a point 225 metres east of the centre line of the existing Corbally Road Overbridge to a point 175 metres west of the centre line of the existing Corbally Road Overbridge.

(Total 400m in length).

 

  • Part of the westbound M7 between a point 1830 metres west of the centre line of the existing Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12) to a point 1330 metres west of the centre line of the existing Newbridge junction (M7 Junction 12)

(Total 500m in length).

 

An Garda Síochána and Transport Infrastructure Ireland have indicated that they have no objections to this Road Works Speed Limit Order.

 

 

This Road Works Speed Limit Order will apply from 11 p.m. (23.00hours) on Sunday 27 August 2017 to 11 p.m. (23.00hours) on Sunday 17 September 2017 where signage is in place.
