New Town Park, Prosperous (Part 8)


Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given for the proposal to construct a New Town Park in Prosperous, Naas, Co. Kildare. The aim of the project is to provide the town with a recreation park facility and children’s playground. The new park will include a car park with 53 car spaces including provision for disabled persons. The objectives of the scheme are to provide the following:

  • The park will provide a landscape garden with native planting and trees that will enhance the town’s attractiveness
  • Additional parking (53 spaces including disabled parking) will mainly provide necessary spaces for parks visitors, park-and-ride commuters, parents dropping off children, and help alleviate parking congestion for surrounding businesses
  • An educational space for children and adults where workshops can be given on bio-diversity and horticulture
  • Scheme will include necessary improvement to surrounding local footpaths and junction crossings, bus set down areas
  • Provide a new playground for young children to play and be active
  • Exercise equipment that will be a health benefit to people who may not have access, or the means, to join sports centres


Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal opening hours from Tuesday 11 July 2017 until Tuesday 15 August 2017 during public opening hours at the following locations:


Kildare County Council, Level 2, Aras Chill Dara, Naas, County Kildare.

Maynooth Roads Office, Leinster Street, Maynooth, County Kildare.

Parish Centre, Prosperous, County Kildare.

Submissions should be headed; “New Town Park Prosperous – Reference P82017.010”


All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this scheme will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Kildare County Council. Accordingly they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
