Temporary Works Speed Limit - M7, M9

M7 in the townlands of Great Connell and Clownings, Co. Kildare.

M9 in the townlands of Great Connell and Clownings, Co. Kildare.

Kildare County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, hereby makes the following Order in respect of the area comprising the administrative County of Kildare;

 

  1. 1.    This order may be cited as The Road Works Speed Limit Order NRO 5/2017

 

  1. 2.    60 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the First Schedule to this order;
  2. 3.  80 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the Second Schedule to this order;

First Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of

60 kilometres per hour is prescribed

 

A section of the M7, in the townlands of Great Connell and Clownings, Co. Kildare

M7 Eastbound.

Part of the eastbound M7 between a point 800 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 200 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 1,000m in length).

M7 Westbound.

Part of the westbound M7 between a point 600 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 300 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 900m in length).

 

Second Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of

80 kilometres per hour is prescribed

 

A section of the M7, in the townlands of Great Connell and Clownings, Co. Kildare

A section of the M9, in the townlands of Great Connell and Clownings, Co. Kildare

M7 Eastbound.

Part of the eastbound M7 between a point 1300 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 800 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 500m in length).

Part of the eastbound M7 between a point 200 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 700 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 500m in length).

M7 Westbound.

Part of the westbound M7 between a point 1200 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 600 metres east of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 600m in length).

Part of the westbound M7 between a point 300 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange) to a point 800 metres west of the centre line of the existing M7/M9 Underbridge (M7/M9 Interchange)

(Total 500m in length).

 

M9 Southbound

Part of the Southbound M9 between a point 390 metres east of the centre line of the existing Corbally Road Overbridge to a point 110 metres west of the centre line of the existing Corbally Road Overbridge.

(Total 500m in length).

 

An Garda Síochána and Transport Infrastructure Ireland have indicated that they have no objections to this Road Works Speed Limit Order.

 

This Road Works Speed Limit Order will apply from 20.00 hours on Friday 2 June 2017 to 20.00 hours on Friday 28 July 2017 inclusive.
