Naas Local Area Plan

Invitation for Submissions on the Issues Paper for the Proposed Naas Local Area Plan 2018 - 2024

Notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council, being the Planning Authority for the area, proposes to prepare a Local Area Plan for Naas.   A Local Area Plan is a statutory document that sets out the land use strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.  To assist this process an “Issues Paper” has been prepared which identifies the key planning issues that may be addressed in the proposed Naas Local Area Plan.   Kildare County Council invites submissions from interested parties in relation to the Issues Paper.

As a first step Kildare County Council is inviting interested parties to identify ‘bigger picture’ issues that need to be addressed in the Local Area Plan. There are two key components to this pre-draft consultation process:

An invitation to make submissions, and

A public consultation day which has been scheduled to be held at Naas Town Hall, Main Street, Naas on Tuesday 3 October 2017 from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m.


A copy of the Issues Paper may be inspected from Tuesday 19 September 2017 to Tuesday 24 October 2017 inclusive at the following locations:

Planning Office, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, during normal opening hours.

Naas Library, The Harbour, Naas during library opening hours, and

Submissions may be made in respect of the Issues Paper before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday 24October 2017 as follows:

In writing to:  Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2018–2024, c/o Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.  


Please make your submission by one medium only, i.e. in hard copy or online.

Any submission shall state your name and address and, where relevant, the body or organisation represented.   Children or groups or associations representing the interests of children are also welcome to make submissions.

A report will be prepared on submissions received and will include the names of those who made submissions.   This report will be published on our website.

E-mail or faxed submissions will not be accepted.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday 24 October 2017.

Late submissions will not be accepted.

Kildare County Council is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Acts 1997 and 2014 and of the Data Protection Acts, 1988 and 2013.
