‘School Street’ Pilot Scheme for Athy and Monasterevin

Kildare County Council wishes to invite the public to participate in a survey regarding a proposed 12-month pilot scheme for a School Street’ initiative.

A School Street’ will make temporary closures to a street or road on which a school is located to ensure school-goers can travel to and from school using a more sustainable mode of transport, such as walking or cycling.

Two streets have been chosen as pilot locations for the ‘School Street’ scheme, covering five schools in total:

  1. Athy – Mount Hawkins Street
  2. Monasterevin – Drogheda Street

Participants will be asked a number of questions and comments are welcome from the public with respect to the specific measures outlined on the School Street’ survey page.

Responses to the survey will be open to the public until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 7 July 2020.
