Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice of Intention

Roads Regulations, 1994

Kildare County Council, on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994, that it intends to close:

The M4 eastbound between Junction 8 (Kilcock) and Junction 7 (Maynooth).

Dates of the closure: Tuesday, 7 July to Friday, 7 August 2020

Hours of closure:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 21.00 hrs – 05.00 hrs

Saturday 21.00 hrs – 07.00 hrs

Sunday 22.00 hrs – 05.00 hrs

The closure is required to facilitate the resurfacing of the pavement.

M4 Diversion route:

Divert from the M4 at Junction 8 (Kilcock), take the fourth exit from the roundabout onto the R407. At the next roundabout, take the first exit from the roundabout onto the R125. At the next roundabout, take the first exit from the roundabout and remain on the R125 for 500m. At the traffic lights take a right turn onto the R148 and continue straight for approximately 5.5km. At the traffic lights, take a right turn. Continue straight and at the next set of traffic lights, take a right turn. Continue straight for approximately 100m and at the next set of traffic lights, take a left turn onto the R406.

Continue straight for approximately 1.6km until the M4 Junction 7. Traffic to take the left turn joining the M4 Motorway using the eastbound merge slip ramp. 

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access will be allowed at all times. Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transportation & Public Safety Department, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or by email to roadssubmissions@kildarecoco.ie on or before 5.00 p.m. on Monday, 25 May 2020.
