Temporary Road Works Speed Limit Order M7 Westbound

In the townlands of Mayfield, Ballynagalliagh, Hybla, Ballyheage, Monasterevin Bog, Kill, Cappakeel, Maighreichead, Ballyfarsoon and Great Heath

Kildare County Council, on behalf of Laois County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, hereby makes the following order in respect of the area comprising the administrative County of Kildare and the administrative County of Laois

This order may be cited as the;
Road Works Speed Limit Order NRO 6/2019

60 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the  First Schedule to this order;
80 kilometres per hour shall be the Road Works Speed Limit for mechanically propelled vehicles on the Roads as specified in the Second Schedule to this order;

First Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of 60 kilometres per hour is prescribed;

A section of the M7 Westbound in the townlands of Mayfield, Ballynagalliagh, Hybla, Ballyheage, Monasterevin Bog, Kill, Cappakeel, Maighreichead, Ballyfarsoon and Great Heath

Part of the Westbound M7 between a point 1200 metres east of the existing M7 Junction 14 overbridge to a point 150 metres east of the R417 Overbridge
TII MARKER POST M7 W 50.0 – M7 W 54.5 (Total 4,500m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 between a point 1100 metres east of the existing M7 Junction 15 overbridge to a point 50 metres East of the L7812 Overbridge
TII MARKER POST M7 W 63.5 – M7 W 68.5 (Total 5,000m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 diverge at Junction 14 from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 200 metres east of the stop line of the diverge off-ramp at Junction 14
(Total 450m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 merge at Junction 14 from a point 185 metres west of the start of the merge on-ramp at M7 Junction 14 to the end of the merge taper
(Total 600m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 diverge at Junction 15 from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 185 metres east of the stop line of the diverge off-ramp at Junction 15
(Total 350m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 merge at Junction 15 from a point 140 metres west of the start of the merge on-ramp at M7 Junction 15 to the end of the merge taper
(Total 500m in length).

Second Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of 80 kilometres per hour is prescribed;

A section of the M7 Westbound in the townland of Cappakeel;

Part of the Westbound M7 between a point 1700 metres east of the existing M7 Junction 14 overbridge to a point 1200 metres east of the M7 Junction 14 overbridge.
TII MARKER POST M7 W 49.5 – M7 W 50.0

(Total 500m in length).

Part of the Westbound M7 between a point 1600 metres east of the existing M7 Junction 15 overbridge to a point 1100 metres east of the M7 Junction 15 overbridge
TII MARKER POST M7 W 63.0 – M7 W 63.5 (Total 500m in length).

An Garda Síochána and Transport Infrastructure Ireland have indicated that they have no objections to this Road Works Speed Limit Order.

This Road Works Speed Limit Order will apply from Tuesday, 20 August 2019 to Thursday, 19 September 2019.
