Bike Week takes place from 22nd to 30th June. It’s a celebration of all that is great about bikes and cycling. It’s also all about embracing climate change and reducing carbon emissions.

Kildare County Council is encouraging everyone, young and old, to play their part. So why not leave the car behind this week and hop on your bike?

Mobile Bike repair workshops to help you on your bike!

Three mobile bicycle repair workshops will be established in Kildare this Friday and Saturday as part of Bike Week. Kildare County Council will sponsor the bicycle repair workshops in Athy, Newbridge and Maynooth. The repair workshops will allow bike users to bring their bicycles to the designated locations for assessment and repair for free.

The workshops will be outside Newbridge Garda Station on Friday from 10am to 12.30pm and at Maynooth Harbour from 2pm to 4pm and at the Barrow Quay in Athy on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

Naas to Sallins Community Greenway Cycle

On Saturday 29th June, join the Naas to Salllins Greenway Cycle, departing from K-Leisure at 11.30am. Complimentary Tea, Coffee, juices and fruit will be provided at the finish point at SuperValu Sallins.

Clane Wheelers Couch to 50km Cycle

Clane Wheelers Cycling Club are about to launch a couch to 50k cycling program. The program will kick off on Sunday 23rd of June. The idea is to give people who don't cycle the confidence and ability to cycle 50k. It's an 8 week program that focuses on all aspects of safe cycling. Adults of all fitness levels very welcome. Any roadworthy bike will do. Those interested but don't yet own a bike can contact the team at Clane Wheelers Cycling Club and they will try and organise a loan of a bike. Helmet are essential! Leinster Loop 145km Charity Cycle

The St. Laurence's Community Complex and breast Cancer Research will run the 10th annual 'Leinster Loop' charity cycle. The 145km route begins from St. Laurence's Community Complex, Narraghmore at 9.30am and finishes at 2.55pm.

Inclusive & Accessibility Cycle

Kildare Sports Partnership and the Leinster Loop are holding an Inclusive and Accessibility Cycle on Sunday 30th June, as part of the Leinster Loop. This initiative is supported by Kildare County Council.

Family Cycle - Royal Canal Greenway Cycle - Maynooth/Kilcock

The Maynooth Cycling Campaign is holding a Family Cycle on the Dublin-Galway Greenway from Maynooth Harbour to Kilcock. Departing Maynooth Harbour at 2.30pm
