Darby's Castle is a new Irish play by Tipperary playwright Willie Egan.
Ed Darby, a recently retired successful Bank Manager, and his wife Anne are preparing for a family dinner to announce their retirement plans to their grown up offspring.
They have worked hard and ticked all the correct boxes, happy days are here at last? But who measures success? The arrival of a non-family guest at the party adds a strange dynamic and twist to what was already an environment ripe for conflict.
As Robbie Burns once said - "The best laid plans of men and mice gang aft awry".
